Sohal Tang (Acanthurus sohal)

This Sohal Tang, also known as the Red Sea Clown Surgeon, is found in the Red Sea, to the Persian Gulf, and the Arabian Sea usually living in solitude. Sohal tangs are known to inhabit reefs generally at depths of less than 20 meters. Sohal Tangs can grow up to 16 inches.

The Sohal Tang can often be aggressive towards other Tangs and Wrasses. They are best suited for large aquariums with other aggressive fish but will also do well in larger reef systems.

Sohal Tangs are herbivores but will eat meaty foods. It is important that they are provided with plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. Doing this will strengthen their immune system improving their overall health.
