Gold Head Sleeper Goby (Valenciennea strigata)
Description
The Sleeper Gold Head Goby, otherwise known as the Golden Head Sleeper, The Blueband Goby, Yellowheaded Sleeper Goby, and the Pennant Glider. These fish are yellow-gold faced with a sapphire-blue stripe below their small eyes and are marked with blue covering their gills. Their elongated bodies are white in color and so are their fins.
It is best to house these fish in a 30 gallon tank or larger with live sand and a well-sealed canopy. Inside, there should be a populated refugium attached. (For those who don’t know, a refugium is used as safe havens, often used to grown copepods as food or to raise certain species of fish or coral.) The Sleeper Gold Head Goby is a rather peaceful fish and rarely shows signs of aggression towards other fish. It can become territorial at times and will fight with other kinds of fish unless they are a mated pair.
Diet
The diet of the Sleeper Gold Head Goby should include: mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, live black worms, and prepared meaty preparations.
