The Queen Angelfish are known for being the most striking of all the angelfish. From their faces to their tails they are a vibrant yellow, highlighted with a bright sapphire blue. They are marked on the forehead with a crown of blue, and their elongated dorsal and pelvic fins are highlighted with a dark orange.
The best housing option for the Queen Angelfish would be a 250 gallon tank or larger due to the fact that this angelfish can grow to 18 inches. With that said, they need room for hiding and plenty of live rock for grazing. The Queen Angelfish can be aggressive, so it should introduced last when bringing it into a community tank. They are also known for nipping at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles.
The diet of the Queen Angelfish should include: meaty items such as mysis and frozen shrimp, high-quality angelfish preparations, spirulina, and marine algae. The Queen Angelfish should be fed at least three times a day.
