Pinktail Triggerfish (Melichthys vidua)
Description
The Pinktail Triggerfish are named after their bright pink caudal tail. Their bodies are emerald green accented with yellow and their pectoral fins are flecked with dark red.
It is best to house the Pinktail in a 180 gallon tank or larger with caves and live rock to stimulate a natural habitat. These fish can be a bit aggressive but can be housed with other fish. They can be placed in reef aquariums with caution. They tend to eat crustaceans and small fish.
Diet
The diet of the Pinktail Triggerfish should include: krill, squid, clams, small fish, and hard shell shrimp to soften their teeth.
