Pakistan Butterflyfish (Chaetodon collare)
The Pakistan Butterflyfish, otherwise known as the Collare Butterflyfish or the Redtail Butterflyfish, are masked with two white stripes and one black band across their eyes. These fish are brown and black in color with yellow-tan patterned spots, and they are adorn with a striking red tail that contrasts the muted, earthy tones of their primary coloring.
It is best to house these fish in 125 gallon tanks or larger with live rock for grazing and room for swimming. The Pakistan Butterflyfish does well as a single aquarium dweller, but they can be introduced to aquariums in a pair if introduced at the same time. Keep in mind, these fish eat and nip at soft and stony corals (sessile invertebrates), so a reef tank may not be suitable for them.
The diet of the Pakistan Butterflyfish should include: frozen meaty preparations, marine fish, crustacean flesh, and brine shrimp. These fish require several feedings a day.
