Marine Betta fish also known as comets and are nocturnal by nature and will hide under caves, ledges and crevices during the day. By night it will come out to search for food. The Marine Betta has an oval shaped body and when in danger it will bury its head leaving its tail out to mimic the head of an eel to fend off a potential predator. Comets are predators, feeding on crustaceans and small fish. They catch their prey by approaching it swimming sideways and then waiting for the prey to try to escape. As the prey tries to escape on the side of the fish, it will escape towards the fish's mouth half the time.
