Ignitus Flame Anthias (Pseudanthias ignitus)
Description
The Ignitus Anthias, otherwise known as the Flame Anthias, are known for the beautiful gradient effect of their scales. Their colors range from vibrant oranges, bold yellows, to variations of fiery reds.
It is best to keep the Ignitus Anthias in a 70 gallon tank or larger with plenty of hiding place. These fish would do well in either a reef aquarium or a FOWLR (fish only with live rock) aquarium. Anthias are hermaphroditic. If the dominant male in the aquarium perishes, the largest female of the group will change genders to take its role.
Diet
The diet of the Ignitus Anthias should include: frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, flake foods, and live food from a refugium which cultivates copepods and amphipods.
