Harlequin Tusk (Choerodon fasciatus)
Harlequin Tusks are known for having two different variations: one deriving from the Indian Ocean, the other from the reefs of Australia. The Indian Ocean Tusks orange and white striped with a bit of blue on the base of the caudal fin.
It is best to house the Harlequin Tusk in a 125 gallon tank or larger with live rock for grazing and hiding. These fish can be kept in a reef aquarium but with caution and are best for FOWLR (Fish Only With Live Rock) aquariums. They are semi-aggressive and should be kept with fish that can hold their own such as Angels, Tangs, and smaller Triggers. Harlequin Tusks have bright blue teeth or tusks used for eating invertebrates, and they will eat crustaceans such as snails and crabs.
The diet of the Harlequin Tusk should include: meaty foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp, marine algae, marine pellets, and marine flakes.
