Gold Back Triggerfish (Xanthichthys caeruleolineatus)
Description
The Goldenback Triggerfish are a rare triggerfish that can grow up to 14 inches long. These oval/submarine shaped fish are iridescent white in color and are orange on their upper bodies. They are lined with that same orange across their caudal fins and their eyes are colored orange as well.
It is best to house the Goldenback Triggerfish in a 200 gallon tank or larger with rocks and caves to stimulate a natural habitat. These fish can be semi-aggressive, but can be kept with other peaceful fish. They can be placed in reef aquariums but with caution.
Diet
The diet of the Goldenback triggerfish should include: pellets, mysis, spirulina brine, roe, and bloodworms.
