Flagfin Angelfish (Apolemichthys trimaculatus)
The Flagfin Angelfish, otherwise known as the Threespot Angelfish, is a blue lipped, bright yellow angelfish with a bold black eyebrow marking and a lateral marked anal fin.
It is best to house the Flagfin Angelfish in a 125 gallon tank or larger with live rock for grazing and many places for hiding. The Flagfin angelfish are not the best reef dwellers and are prone to nip at soft and stony corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles. They are also very shy, so it is best to keep them as the only angelfish in the tank.
The diet of the Flagfin Angelfish should include: sponge-containing frozen angelfish rations, mysis, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, spirulina, and marine algae. Be aware that this type of angelfish has a difficulty in adapting to eating certain foods, so an expert aquarists may be best suited for the Flagfin.
