The Evansi Anthias, otherwise known as the Yellowtail Goldie or the Evan’s Anthias, have golden tails. The color of their tails extend laterally towards their dorsal region. Despite having the yellow tail, these fish are primarily violet with yellow dots sprinkled across their bodies and an orange line running from their nose to their pectoral fin.
It is best to keep the Evansi Anthias in a 70 gallon tank or larger with plenty of hiding places, caves, and ledges. These fish do well when they are in groups that consist of one male and several females. If the group is rather large, it may be best to keep them in a 125 gallon tank. Anthias are hermaphroditic. If the dominant male in the aquarium perishes, the largest female of the group will change genders to take its role.
The diet of the Evansi Anthias should include: frozen mysis shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, flake foods, and live food from a refugium which cultivates copepods and amphipods.
