7-8" Blonde Naso Tang w/ Streamer (Naso Elegans)
The Blonde Naso Tang, much like the Naso Tang, shift colors as it matures. Juvenile Blonde Naso Tang are gray with a yellow stripe on both the dorsal fin and an orange line against the anal fin.
Once matured, the Naso Tang’s body transforms into a reddish-brown color and the juvenile striping is complemented with a dark edge. A black, thin mask is outlined with bright yellow and the lips change from a light orange to a reddish-orange. Their tails take on the shape of a lyre with an orange and white marking between the lateral line and the caudal tail.
It is best to house the Blonde Naso Tang in a 180 gallon or larger aquarium to provide enough room for swimming and places to hide. Be sure to keep a tight-fitted lid to avoid escaping. Unlike other tangs, the Blonde Naso Tang can be aggressive towards other tangs, but they are peaceful around fish.
Although tangs will eat meaty foods, they prefer marine based seaweed and algae which boosts their immune system, reduce aggression, and improve overall health. To feed them, tie dried seaweed to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week.
